Title: Slide position of entire rc on the spline?
Post by: PixelWindChill on June 27, 2014, 06:22:24 PM
I sort of saw this question in the pro version form but did not really see a clear answer. Since we have 5 user license I don't have the info to register in the pro form to post there so I will give it a shot here..

So we basically created a Linear 1S generator and built a simple pole and wire segment and put it along a spline. Wires seg are going into Default, pole seg is going into Evenly. (works great)

My question: Is there a way to slide the entire generator up and down the spline. Problem we have is that the poles are ending up in a middle of a intersection. Our spacing Distance needs to be specific so we can't just adjust that under the Evenly category. Adjusting the end of the spline does seem to move the generator but segments snap on and off adjusting to the length.

We are pretty new to RC so I know this is probably really simple answer, I am just not seeing it or reading it or really know what to ask when searching.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for contacting us and for the kind words.

You should be able to slide the geometry along the spline by using the start value from the Base objects rollout.

I hope that helps, if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Paul

Worked perfectly - actually both ways fixed the problem but not messing with the spline is the way to go. Ya know, I am always one radio button away from a solution ;) Thanks again!
