Small ask regarding the updater...
« on: September 30, 2021, 03:12:14 PM »
Dear iToo,

Would it be possible to do something about the RC updater behavior?
I really just wish it did not ask for my password, every time!
Perhaps there could be a "remember my password" checkbox??
It happens often enough that it is a significant interruption of work flow.

Thanks in advance,
TL1895

Hi,

I thought that problem was solved some time ago. We'll check it again.

Please, can you confirm you're using latest versions versions of Forest and RailClone ?
It would happen that an old version of Update Manager included with FP, causes that issue with the UM included with RC, if they are different versions.

Recently we have unified Update Manager in an unique package with FP and RC, to avoid this issue.

Dear user,

Update Manager should keep the credentials from one session to another, as replied before the only known issue is when where was some old Update Manger version mixed with a newer one. You are running the latest plugins so this is a strange issue.

When asked for the login, please check the Update Manager version (Help->About) for running version 1.3.5 or later. If you get a different version this should be fixed re-installing any of the plugins.

If the problem persists, please write us for further investigation.

Strange...I opened update manager to check the version.  First, for a moment, the login boxes were there.  Then, they were gone and the update manager finally did not ask for my credentials.
I write "strange" because somehow by checking the version (which was 1.3.5) the problem is corrected.  Did you guys do anything?

Thanks and I am glad it is resolved, however it happened.

Well, it seems the issue has not quite been resolved.  It happened again today, during installation of the latest release.

Hi,

Thanks for the email. For security reasons, you will still need to sign in if you haven't done so for a period of time. According to our logs, that's the reason for you having to enter your details again in this case.

I hope that helps,
Paul
