Linear1s + Scale + Surface don't work?

Hey there,

I've got a simple example here to show a little problem I'm having in a more complex scene.

I want to try and use 1 default segment per spline segment - so it matches other geometry, and have it follow a surface object.

So using the scale mode, I've put in a rectangle here. However as you can see there is variations in the elevation values, plus there are strange cuts in my objects?

Any ideas?

If you turn on Vertex Weld and adjust the threshold a bit, it will begin to fix this, but not completely. You could switch to adaptive mode for the generator and it will maintain the geometry without the random slices and bends, but will slightly alter the spacing.

Another method I discovered with your file is to break all of the vertices of your spline, and then change the array to adaptive and then use the Vertex Weld with a fairly high value (0.5m seemed to work.)

It's kind of defeating the purpose isn't it though?

I can do this with lofts etc in max, but wondering if it's possible to do in RC, as you can setup profiles etc.
