Title: Stadium Roof with defined inner AND outer broundaries
Post by: junglejuz on May 20, 2022, 10:15:29 AM
Hi. I've been looking at the free tutorial file for creating a stadium and would like to use the roof railclone object. My problem is that I need to define the outer and inner boundaries of the roof, as they are non-uniform. The screenshot shows splines defining the boundaries. Is there a way of adapting the script so that the roof will conform to both boundaries?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Justin

Hi Justin,

At present I'm afraid there isn't an easy way in RailClone to create geometry between two paths. As a workaround though you might find the technique shown in this thread helpful: https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/curved-sloped-
cladding/ (https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/curved-sloped-cladding/)

Best

thanks i'll look at that.
With an average 2 year development cycle, I'm assuming this is something that isn't likely to be implemented any time soon, if at all?

An array that uses two splines in this way has been on our list for a while, but I'm afraid at this point I don't have any idea if or when it might be implemented.

Thanks for understanding,
Paul
