Stairs Handrail Issue
« on: May 17, 2016, 04:31:07 PM »
Hi

I know it's not really in the Libraries, but the stairs handrail I always try and achieve, but I always get issues like the attached image.

Is there anything I can adjust to fix the handrails shifting.

Thank you

Phil

I am on the latest pro Version.

Hi Phil,

Would you mind attaching your Max file so I can take a closer look. It'll be much easier to solve that way. If you'd prefer not to post it here, please feel free to send it to support@itoosoft.com.

Many thanks!

Paul

Hi,

First let me mention, that stairs can be tricky to solve within one style as depending on its design, it can bring several problematic places.

As in your case vertical spline segments are causing unwanted artefacts, I would suggest you to remove those (& move the lower part of spline to have a continuous line). To avoid Start / End Segments I've welded some vertices and for the "Glass handrail end01" Segment set Deform - Flat Bottom to 0,0 m. Attaching modified scene. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,

Michal

Thank you for the your time in sorting this out.
I broke up the splines and that helped a lot.
But I will have a look at the file you posted and use that as a template from now on.

Thank you once again.
