start and end spline offset - how to?
« on: September 09, 2014, 08:04:23 PM »
i wonder if it possible to make offset from start and end of spline and keep adaptive evenly mode like on image below
would be enough if it will be just global value for both start and end offset

seems it is rather feature request than "how to"
would be great to have option to set offset from start and end of spline

I'm afraid it's not possible, because Evenly partition is done using the full length of the spline.
The only way would be using Base Objects->Start/Lenght, but probably that is not what you need, because it uses absolute spline positions.

i see.
tried padding of start/end segments, but it not working with Evenly mode.
so may be it is possible to add Offset value for start and end segments so it will subtract from spline length?

No, Start/End Segments are not taken into account for the Evenly partition. That process is done before evaluating the nodes.
This feature requires a specific implementation. We have some ideas in the wishlist that may work for this.

Thank you very much for this feature i found in latest builds!
two more requests:

1. is it possible to make it support negative offset?
2. apply start/end offsets after Y offset for correct corners

1. I think negative offsets may be a problem, because it would be necessary to "extend" the spline, but we'll take a look to it.
2. I just noticed that Y Offset modifies the spline's end (we'll fix that). But what is the problem with the corner ? I don't understand...
