Help needed with window blinds script
« on: November 01, 2019, 06:51:44 PM »
Hello

I need to create a animation for window blinds and I'm having a issue and need some help

As you can see on the screenshot 10_degrees.jpg I'm using numeric input fields to control the animation, but when i move the blinds to a value of 50 degrees i get additional blinds to cover the height value (see screenshot 50_degrees.jpg}
How can i set the amount of blinds used as a static value? Obviously the distance between the blinds and the amount of blinds should be always the same.
I tried to attach the max file to this post, but got a Intrernal server error 500 after i submit, so instead i uploaded the file to our server

Anyone who can help me to solve this problem?

thanks

Uwe

Hi
I can't open your file since I`m still on Max2015 but try to:
1. Export X Fixed Size on your Transform node
2. Connect Blinds_Distance
3. On Transform General >> Check `Fixed Size` and UNCHECK `Scale Segment`

Hi Dragan

I tried your changes, but it didnt work

I did convert the max file to max15

You can download it here http://3d.cr/outside/RC_blinds_001_max15.zip

Can you open it?

Yes, I can and I see you are using 2 RC objects. Whit RC4 you can do everything in ONE RC object.
How do you want your Generator to behave? I mean which parameters you want to have/drive?

Oh I didnt know that about using only one RC Object

The goal is to use the numeric inputs: Blinds height, Blinds Distance and Blind Rotation to animate the blind

the distance between the blinds needs to be the same, so no additional blinds will be inserted when i start rotation - currently it fills up the height with additional objects

The final goal should be that i add the RC to a spline - as done in the RC_Blinds_window

I hope i made myself clear and didnt add confusion to this post :-)

Great.
Just re-download from the EDITED link. I restrict/recalculate some parameters.

Best Regards
