Title: Tiling Offset and Corners
Post by: PP1809 on December 26, 2016, 12:41:40 PM
Hi,

Fairly simple question but I'm a complete newbie to rail clone and can't seem to work it out.

Im trying to create tiles around a simple building like in the picture below, but am having issues getting the full size tiles to offset with the half tiles. I've watched the parquet flooring tutorial which I'm basing my style off but doesn't seem to be working quite the same. Also I can't get the tiles to bend properly and the corner in the Y Spline. Any help would be greatly appreciate!

Hi,

As shown on example in the "Create your first 2d array (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/RAILCLONE/9+-+Create+your+first+2d+array)" part of our "Getting Started with RailClone (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/RAILCLONE/Getting+Started+with+RailClone)" guide: "Because the A2S array is a stack of L1S generators, if you use Segments with unequal sizes on the Y axis in a row, the overall height of that row is determined by the tallest segment."

As these tiles are equally wide, switching the X & Y spline to "reorient" the RC object should do the trick. The Extend Bevel mode should give correct results. Attaching a sample scene. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,
