Title: Triangular floor tiles
Post by: iToo_Butler on May 31, 2017, 01:14:24 PM
Hi all,

How can I  setup a RC using equilateral triangular tiles so that RC randomises the rotation of the tiles by 120? So that when a material is applied it's direction is different. I'm replicating this floor (http://)http://www.bolon.com/en/project/office/department-of-immigration-and-border-protection (http://www.bolon.com/en/project/office/department-of-immigration-and-border-protection) and want to be able to adjust it quickly when the client comes bavk with changes so I'd love to railclone it!

I presume some sort of rotation expression is needed but I'm struggling.

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

Hi Andy,

In this case, there's no need to rotate the Segment and using the UVW XForm (http://docs.itoosoft.com/railclone/style-editor/operators#Operators-UVWXForm) Operator with corresponding Step Increment to rotate the UV mapping should do the trick too. Attaching a sample scene with possible style set-up. Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,

Thank you for this. I devised my own, slightly simpler but far less cool method in the end! But will try this one for sure.

Thanks for the amazing effort.

Andy.
