Title: Unwanted corner segment at section start / end
Post by: antmarch on January 12, 2016, 04:20:13 PM
Gents,

Got a little issue here. Trying to make a simple wall with two id's on the spline, the walls must have filleted corners, and an entrance spans one side of the rectangle.

So, one id for the wall, a second for the shopfront entrance.  After your posts back to me before Xmas, I tried a different tack to fix my initial beveling problem, so Ive used two generators for the wall, an empty segment with padding for the corners, (though this works it still leaves a tiny tiny gap), and a subdivided segment for the corner in a second operator.  As I'm beveling this corner in the second operator, it inserts an unwanted segment at what Railclone thinks is a corner, though surely it isn't a corner, shouldn't it be start/end of a spline??  Adjust this value back to zero and the segment goes away.  Corner here is set to default Corner or BezC, adjusting this doesn't change anything, neither the scale or tile settings either.

attached file also.

Of course the offending part can be deleted once collapsed, but I'd rather understand or fix this.

Hi!

Thanks for reporting this issue, it appears to be a bug. We'll make sure it's fixed. In the meantime you can get around these by either filleting the base spline itself instead of using RailClone's fillet feature; or breaking the vertices when the Material ID changes.  The second option (attached) also allows you use the Corner input to place more detailed sections where you need them.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have further questions.

Many thanks!

Paul

breaking them works a treat, sorry to say I was so focused on the issue I overlooked the obvious.

Thanks once again.
