Hi, Thanks for the suggestion - I've added it to our wishlist.
In the meantime, you can get around this by following this procedure:
1 - In the Material Editor > Map parameters, offset the map by -0.5 on the U and V axes
2 - Select the end polys on the source object and apply a UVW XForm modifier. Set the U and V offset parameters to 0.5 scene units
That move the centre of texture and UVs to the origin and rotation should then work as desired. I've attached a file to illustrate.
