Title: Varying material in cladding
Post by: FC1888 on June 14, 2017, 03:30:32 PM
Loving the new cladding and roofing libraries, which not only save me a HUGE amount of time but make renders look so much more realistic.

However I have a problem that I am trying to solve... While there is a nice variety of cladding styles, that can be used both horizontally and vertically, there is one thing I would like to be able to do.. Vary the colour of individual boards... While the basic styles allow to to change the basic colour, most seem a little flat.. So is there any way to produce this effect, where some boards vary in lightness, some dark, some light etc.

Hi,

The material set-up allows a wide variety of customization. There are several options available within used RailClone Color maps - you can easily modify used textures, the Color Gradient used for the Tint feature / choose the Blending Mode which will suit best your needs.

These RailClone Color maps & VRayMultiSubTex map are being mixed within the Composite map (which has many blending modes), which gives you a lot of possibilities - you can easily change the Opacity for these maps, the Blending Mode, add Mask(s) ...

Optionally, adding the Color Correction map between the Composite map and the Diffuse slot for quick additional tweaking would be possible too.

Hope that helps.

Best regadrs,

Thanks for the prompt reply Michal. I will have to play around with it a bit more I think.. Was just wondering if there would be a quick way to add random gamma/hue/sat to a bunch of bitmaps, like adjusting each within a certain value +/-, similar to transform, scale and rotation in forest pack, but instead gamma, hue and saturation
