Basic Pylons - Cables Joining correctly
« on: July 16, 2019, 10:08:19 AM »
Hey there,

I can't seem to get a basic pylon example working correctly.

The requirements are to be able to specify exactly where each pole is, and for the cables to be modelled with sag, but go in a straight line from one pole to another.

I can get reasonably close, but the cables should meet exactly at the centre of the pylon like you would expect if you sweeped along the spline for example. With exactly one object in between the corners.

Hi

In case like this for now the only option is to play with Corner Bevel Modes.

We might have an alternative solution in near future.

Ok, bevel options don't produce satisfactory results at present. I look forward to future solutions :)

I've just seen there's a v4 beta out, I assume the way you hinted it wouldn't be possible in that either?

Alternative would be to use new (and free) plugin SplineOffset.
This plugin will be great helper for both ForestPack And RailClone styles.

Feel free to experiment.
