Viewport problem after import from library
« on: May 06, 2014, 06:55:07 PM »
Hi,

I have sometimes this problem - look at attachements. After import some style from library, it look like this or any other weird color, every time different but bad. Then I hit F9 for render and after that viewport repair itself and look good. I can stop the rendering and viewport is good too. Dont know where is a problem.

Using max 2014 x64, vray 3, nitrous viewport, but doesnt matter if realistic or shaded viewport.

Thanks for any tips.

This is a known issue, as far as i know the problem happens only with Max 2014. It 's already in our to-do list.

Apologies by the inconveniences, unfortunately there is not a workaround.

Thanks for the information. I think the problem is related with Nitrous in Max 2014, but probably it doesn't happen in all configurations. We must check it.

OK, thanks. When I import a style, hit F9 and cancel the render and its ok. But its a little bit annoying.

Hopefully in the next weeks. We are waiting the release of V-Ray for Max 2015, to include support for this version.
Meanwhile, we are making changes and adding other features.

I appear to be having the same issue:

I'm using 3ds Max 2014, Vray 3.00.03 and I just bought and installed Rail Clone Pro 234.

Hi,

It looks as though this style is displaying correctly. RailClone uses an adaptive display mode that simplifies the geometry when the objects face count exceeds a certain level. This behaviour is controlled from the Display rollout in the viewport group. It is possible to override this behaviour and force the viewport to display the full geometry by selecting Mesh or increasing the face threshold. Either way it will always render the full geometry as expected, the viewport display is just an optimisation to improve performance.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have further questions.

Many thanks,

Paul
