Vray Proxy Distributed render Problem.
« on: March 25, 2016, 02:52:47 AM »
I'm using version 2.5.0 version.
I have a ~5 million Editable poly object, which has been converted to a Vray proxy. Think of a skyscaper out of A4 papers.
I set the vray proxy to the linear 1S. The spline is a simple long spline to populate those "buildings"
Vray proxy object is displayed as Box. It renders fine on the single machine.

I setup another PC to add it to vray Distributed Render.. DR.
Since I have a single license. I installed Railclone Pro to other pc as render node. The DR picks the proxy object file over network. same 2.5.0 version.

Now it does render with DR but renders differently the buckets of the DR machine is weird.
Have a look at the image attached and you'll understand the problem.

The Railclone object does have random Transition and rotation and scale parameters assigned.
I think on the DR machine it weirdly re-generates the vray proxy like as a different seed.

I turned of the random parameters. The result is the same.
*EDIT*
I tried the same scenario. But without the VrayProxy object. It renders just fine. and I guess more speedy
*EDIT*

Also Does using vray proxy has no or bad effect. In such heavy poly objects?
Please help

It's a strange issue. Sometimes we see problems with DR nodes which cannot load proxies (bad network paths and so), but not that render different.
Is there some change turning on Render Settings->Distributed Rendering->Transfer missing assets ?

Anyway, there is not any benefit using proxies in RailClone. We included them just for compatibility, but internally all segments are converted to native V-Ray instances.
If that solves the problem, i suggest you use the mesh object directly.
