Hi Itoo Team,

I was wondering if you could help me understand what's going on here. Check out the graphic.

Thank you!

Hi,

First, I’d like to point out that RailClone includes the RailClone Color (https://docs.itoosoft.com/railclone/railclone-color) map, which - especially when used in combination with the Material and UVW XForm operators - offers a wide range of options for randomizing textures and maps.

If you still prefer to use the VRayMultiSubTex map, note that for some modes, the RailClone object should be treated as a standard 3ds Max object. This can be done by disabling the Instancing Engine, which makes the necessary data accessible to that map. However, certain modes - such as Get ID from: Random > By instance ID - should work without needing to disable the Instancing Engine. That said, I wouldn’t consider this a bug - it’s more of a partially supported feature, due to the way RailClone handles geometry. For best results, we recommend using RailClone’s native tools. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
