Why are my tiles growing?
« on: September 29, 2022, 04:10:21 PM »
Greetings,

I am using the included basic itoo bricks macro with running bond, and everything seems okay except it is growing the depth/thickness of my tiles.
I've tried changing settings doing reset X-forms, different rotations all to give me the same result and I'm probably going to abandon it for floorgenerator once again due to too much time spent fiddling.

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

That particular macro forces the geometry to standard proportions so that a typical brick wall can turn corners and maintain the running bond pattern. If you don't need the corners you can keep it much simpler by just alternating full and half-size tiles on the Y axis in the start and end inputs. The attached file should help illustrate.

I hope that helps,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Oh silly me, that makes a lot of sense as it's called "bricks macro."
Well, thanks again for your help, perhaps I can use it on the next one!

Have a great weekend,

Dear Paul,

Would you mind uploading the file for Max2019 please?
Thank you so much.

FWIW that style you uploaded is so simple to use/adjust, and works so well, it should be a default.  :o
