Power Cables with RailClone in 3ds Max

Hi,

i followed the quick-tip tutorial: QUICK TIP: Creating Power Cables with RailClone in 3ds Max https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlQ5efL1rJc

Now i have some trouble withe the wires, when i attache a surface. Please look at the Screenshoots.

Any Suggestions?

Hi,

Please find attached the "Power Cables Rough Terrain" sample scene made by my colleague Paul with a possible solution to avoid this kind of deformations. It’s based on a spline with the defined number of “knots” by the Normalize Spline Modifier (to adjust the number of poles as needed) and having the Conform Space Warp applied to adapt to the surface. Hope that helps.
