Author Topic: Map Channel ID is working for object, but not when used as segment in RC  (Read 1548 times)

My object (a glass block) has a realworld scale box map applied to it, set to map channel 1. Then on specific polygons it has map channel 2 (not realworld) used to allocate a bump map.

The object renders as it should.

When used as a segment with Railclone, the channel 2 bump mapping is not apparent. I don't know why this is. Can you help?

In the attached image, you can see the object on the left is correct, whilst the Railclone object on the Right is missing the bump map (channel 2).

Thanks for contacting us. I'm trying to reproduce this issue here but so far channel IDs appear to be working correctly. In my test file a UVW Pattern is assigned to Map channel one set up with real-world map sizes and the target is Map Channel 2, planar mapped with a fixed length and width. As you can see it appears correctly in RailClone:

Hi,

Thanks for the scene. It looks like you have a different multi-sub object material applied to the RailClone object than to the segment. At the moment RailClone doesn't automatically generate materials from the source objects so they must be assigned manually, making sure you instance them so that changes are reflected on both the source geometry and the RailClone object.
