We have been running 2.46 for some time now and have various projects with RC objects that were created with this version.

We have finally upgraded all our machines and render farm to 2.50.

Rendering a scene with an existing RC object in it causes Max to crash (pre-passes complete OK, but when rendering occurs the scene crashes).

However, rendering a region will not cause the crash.

We are using Max2015 and Vray 3.10.01 in a Windows 7 environments.

This occurs on all our workstations and with a number of different projects.

Reinstalling 2.46 on a workstation solves the problem.
Kind Regards,
Rich

This also appears to happen with the latest version of ForestPro that we upgraded at the same time (we were on 4.37 but upgraded to 4.40). i.e. scenes with FP objects created with version 4.37 cause 3dsmax to crash

We are uninstalling and reinstalling older versions. A real PITA.

Hi, we are testing several scenes here using V-Ray 3.10.03 , but everything seems stable. There is a known issue with v.4.4.0, but affects only to Mental Ray.

Did you try upgrading V-Ray to 3.10.03, or better to 3.20.02 ?

If that doesn't solve the problem, please send us the minidump files to support@itoosoft.com.  Also a simplified scene which we can use to reproduce the problem will be very helpful.

Thanks,
Carlos Quintero
