Title: Wires
Post by: arch3d on January 21, 2021, 10:28:53 AM
Hi,
I am trying to recreate wire system as shown on image.
I have hudreds of wires so i would like to have it on flat spline. Unfortunatelly distances bitween poles are various so i think best way is create style evenly divided
I found this post https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/gradually-increase-scale-of-object-per-y-counter/msg12693/#msg12693 (https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-(*)/gradually-increase-scale-of-object-per-y-counter/msg12693/#msg12693) and i was trying to modified it, but without result.
Curve shape and "top" wire are out of my range

Thank you for help

Hi. That is tough case for RC.
I have used few cheats and the style will not stand to what You might need in some cases. You need to play with welding distance for each parabola.

I used vertex weld feature to weld top parts.
I used parabola formula  (https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/parabola.html)to define the curve. So You need to adjust those parameters to get the shape You want.

Added few parameters to play, like spacing, or top part resolution.

Hope this helps.

Works perfect!

If i connect Your style to another 1S1 in scale mode with fixed size of element i can resize it and desired parabola shape remain:)

Thanks again
