Apply one UVW mapping for whole RailClone Object
« on: January 15, 2019, 12:26:25 PM »
I would like to have this option.
UWV mapping for whole rc object ( if so i can have same coords for all generators in style )

Even applying one UVW mapping for each generator would be nice

Best,
M

Hi, actually it can be done enabling Mapping for each one of the Segments.

Perhaps we would add a similar option for Generators, overriding the Segment value.
But sincerely, i don't like the idea of duplicating parameters, because that makes the interface and the plugin more complex.

Hi Carlos,
Sorry for late respond but i would like to explain my request. My whole object (screen_01) contains only few pieces of geometry. It was made before mascros :)
But to do this i have some complicated tree (screen_02) - some generators are repeted because i cant use from-->to  range (i can do conditionals for each segment but it is time consuming and complicate generators - fastest way is copy generators for desired mat. ID)
Even if i use xform each segment has same starting point in UV space - so if i drag point on spline i got visible repetitons (screen_03)
Now if i apply UV mapping for whole object modifier ignore previous UV's and i have desired effect - even if i change element lenght (generator in scale mode) i have still proper mapping (screen_05) because starting point for each element is in same place in UV space (screen_04).

I hope it sounds logical:)

Hi

as a workaround You could use TriPlanar mapping:

Hope this helps.

Rokas
I was so focused how to do it in RC that i forgot to use my brain to solve it in different way :-[
That's the answer !
Thank you very much !

+600 for a tip :)
