Title: Y Spline Array 2S
Post by: Sergey_Dobrij on October 19, 2021, 06:29:00 PM
Hello! In what projection do you want to create the Y-axis spline? The documentation says "It is not necessary to align the Y spline in 3D space. Just create it on any XY plane, RailClone gets the origin and extent of the spline automatically, using the local X/Y vertex positions. Z is ignored.".
I am creating a spline in front view and I have this.
If I convert Y Spline to X / Y everything works. But in the lesson, everything is defaulted

How is your RC object (Icon) oriented? Usually, it should be placed on X/Y plane.

Also, check those two parameters: Y Spline, X Rotation

Hi, Dragan!
In the lesson file, everything is by default and everything works. But as soon as I draw a new split in front view and plug it in, everything breaks (

Therefore, everything is already confused in my head. Perhaps it was created in a different version and there were spline manipulations at the vertex level ?!

Try to apply Reset XForm on the Y spline.

If I rotate along the X axis then the following happens

Can you share the scene file?
Thank you!

Pivot on your Spline has a different orientation.

Thanks! I also changed in the generator Y spline, to X / Y. And I did pivot manipulations. The question is, why does the lesson file work as it is?

the documentation also says - Defines what coordinates are used for the Y Spline: Y/Z or X/Y.
Note that X/Y was the mode for RailClone 2 objects. RailClone 3 objects uses Y/Z mode by default, which is more logical.

Sorry to bother you). But I am a person who, until I understand thoroughly, will not give himself rest!)

I do not just ask questions, I spend many hours reading and practical work in person to contact the forum. And my desire is to learn to get it right

 ;)
Don't worry, you are on the right track.
I also often come to a solution with trial and error. With time you will at least know where to target those trials.  ;D
Tutorials are great but also keep track of the forum and all the topics because Itoo guys are giving great support in answering all specific questions.
