Heavy render time with fences

Does anyone run into longer than normal render times when it comes to fences? I have a rather large area that is fenced using railClone pro. Removing it renders fine, but when its visible, render times are 3-4 times as long.

What render engine do you use ?

When possible, RailClone converts the segments to render instances, using a custom geometric shader for Mental Ray and VRay. Anyway, the rendering efficiency depends of multiple factors.

If you send us a scene with the RailClone object, we may take a look to it.
