I have a 4500mm wide window frame unit that is repeated along a spline to create the perimeter of a building. I have bevel mode set to symmetric to sort out the corners.
The frame unit is an editable poly made up of frame members, glass and solid panels. I want to be able to hide either of these sub elements so that I can see just the frame, the glass or the solid panels in isolation in the railclone object. To do this, I simply add an edit poly modifier in the stack and hide the appropriate IDs.
The problem I find is that if I hide the frame element (which is the full 4500mm wide), the panels realign as they are no longer 4500mm wide. Likewise, if I only show the solide panels (which are a mere 500mm wide) the railclone object adjusts to butt the 500mm panels side by side.
How do I 'lock' the railclone object so that it doesn't recalculate the alignment as sub object polygons are hidden?
