Network license
« on: October 30, 2012, 12:33:10 PM »
Is there a way for the license to be return to the server, without closing max? Also when we are unable to get one, even if we after taht disconnect the other user in the license manager, we still can't get the license.

Best regards,
Daniel Santana

No. Once that RailClone is used in the scene, it launchs a background process to refresh the license periodically. This is needed in case the link with the license server license is accidently lost (for example because network issues).

You can disconnect the license in the server, but the workstation will get it again in Max is open. If you want that a computer doesn't take a license, you may close Max and switch temporary the license mode to "Stand-alone" (using the "Change License Mode" tool).

Basically, the system is not designed to share a license between several workstations.
