Build a wall with windows, but not on the corners. How?
« on: February 11, 2011, 04:57:49 PM »
I recently bought Railclone hoping it would help me with parametrically building walls. I did some testing, but can't get it to work the way I would like.

See the attached image.

I built a wall element with a window in it. Now I want this element cloned along the path (as long as it fits on a path segment). The rest of the path including the corners should be simply filled with a plain wall (obviously a sliced window is not realistic).

I tried every permutation of slice, bend, padding, etc., but haven't succeeded. Is there a way to get this to work?

Yes, it can be done this way:

1) Create a continuous wall using a solid piece as 'default' segment
2) Use the 'Evenly' construction rule to distribute the window element along the wall

You can use the Evenly parameters to modify the distance between windows, end adjustment and so.

I've attached a sample scene.
