Random material ID
« on: November 23, 2010, 10:57:27 AM »
Could you explain offset material ID a bit more please?

I am creating a curb (how exciting!), and want to have 5 different materials applied. Do I set the random offset from 0 to 5 or 0 to 4?
Kind Regards,
Rich

You must use 0 to 4. The value is added to the current material ID. So, the range goes from ID+0 to ID+4.

We use this method instead assigning directly a material ID, because it can be used to randomize groups of materials in a multi-sub (see the help reference).
