Bounding Box_Cutout on the End side
« on: September 22, 2019, 10:38:15 AM »
Hi.
Here is a simplified scene from Large_Scale_Style. In the original Style, Segment input is a Nested Generator or a Macro.

- segments Deform Slice is Off
- L1S Default mode is Tile

My segment disappears on the End side when it reaches the end of the BoundingBox (Parameter X Fixed Transform). For a minus side, It can go to an infinite value, the Segment remains.
When I switch L1S Default mode to Scale|Adaptive my segment will remain on both sides Start & End.
I know the reason for this kind of behavior but now we can nest the Generators and sometimes Tile mode is the only options to retain fixed dimensions for the model.
In most cases, e.g.  X size value for nested Generator is calculated from Master Generator, so now we can predict and target the specific sizes and the behavior for the Nested Generators.

Maybe something can be done about Tile mode to add an Option to preserve Segments even if they are out of the Splines end-size. (similar to Clipping Area Mode)

Best Regards

I tried A2S. Same results.
Tile mode as expected cuts the end of the segments.
I`m working on some parametric Windows Generator and because of this Tile Mode behaviour, I can`t slide the door frame on the right side.  :D
Please add some checkbox for "Preserve/Slice"  ;)

Edit:
I think when Macro is used as Input, RC will SLICE Segments on some point, not even a full cut (remove) as it does with Basic Segmet Input.

Hi,

According to my tests, this problem happens with any input, not only nested Generators. I can reproduce it using a simple Segment.
It is caused by a change in the logic of No-slice Segments. With RC3, segments can be extended beyond the spline's end, but RC4 removes them.

I modifed the code a bit to fix it, and seems to work well. If there are not problems (we must do more tests), the fix will be included in the next update.
