Temporary stop "under the hood" calculation
« on: October 03, 2019, 01:28:24 PM »
Hi.
I was too ambitious and made the Macro with a really complex network style and 40+ parameters to use.
When this Macro is multiplied in the Style editor everything becomes really slow.  :(
Even placing a Numeric node will take a few seconds.
This is expected and I know there is not much that can be done to make things faster.
But, when I temporary switch off the Macros everything is working at normal speed even though without realtime results.
I was thinking about some options such as RMB click on empty Style Editors workspace and command like Temporary stop "under the hood" calculation.
I know it can be "little" dangerous if we mix up some connection/parameters and "activate" calculation after "pause" but if we know what we are doing at least we could speed up some process.

I hope this makes any sense?  :o 8) ;D

Best Regards

We have found some performance leaks. Probably they are related to what You have in Your situation as well. Maybe not. We are investigating.

To stop under the hood calculations I very often disable autobuild mode:

Ah, yes... this could be it!!!
I just finished my Macro for creating a Window Frame. It works as expected without bugs but could be slow in calculations. I'll do a video to demonstrate how it works and if you need it I could send it at support mali if it could help you testing RC performance.
I just need to rearrange it and do some notice.
