Forest Pro beta / FP Ivy - display limit

Hello,
just an idea for improvement. Would it be possible to add some limit to the FPIvy display? I.e. e.g. it would display 10% of the leaves. For larger Ivy's definitely useful. Now everything that is subsequently rendered has to be displayed :-(

Hello,
So I manually installed Max2Arnold to test FP 9. I was really looking forward to Ivy and also the new PointCloud. However, with PointCloud, I ran into a rather annoying thing right from the start. The individual elements are now very hard to select. Previously, all you had to do was hit a point to select an element. Now it's almost impossible and the only way to select is with Rect. selection.

Confirm. Arnold is manually/scripted uninstalled on all machines.

I could reproduce this issue uninstalling MaxToA, so probably that's the problem.

Currently Forest assumes some MaxToA is installed, and initializes several Arnold data at startup. We'll try to fix it.

For me the same. No Arnold instaled.
Tested on 3 other computers. All max 2024.

Arnold is installed by default in Max. Do you uininstall MaxToA manually ?
If so, please install it and test if crash is solved. Thanks.

Any update on the case? Is there any plan to look into the issue in the coming weeks?
This issue baceme very problematic for us, to be fair, we do not remember this being wrong in max 2022, things only went downhill after switch to 2024.

Hi,

For these purposes, the Limit to Visibility feature under the Camera roll-out should be switched off. Instead, it would be recommendable to adjust the Density/Scale Falloff if needed. I hope that helps, and if anything needs clarifying or if you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi,

Adding a Smooth modifier with the Auto Smooth option enabled on top of the RailClone object to reassign Smoothing Groups should help. But as you've mentioned, if that's not working in your case, feel free to send us your scene - preferably simplified and containing only the problematic object(s). Ideally, if you can reproduce it in a minimal scene, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
