RailClone Pro (*) / Apply box mapping + groups with lights = lights gone

Hi,

I've noticed that when I turn on 'apply box mapping' on a segment that uses a group with a light object inside that group the light disappears from geometry preview and doesn't render.
The rest of the geometry within the group behaves and renders normal.

Is there any workaround for that or is it a group handling limitation?
Or maybe a bug?

Hi, Dont remember exactly but its been a while.
Rendering with IPR on Vray makes RailClone objects dissapear on viewport, its difficult to navigate or select objects.

Hi
Dont know when this start to happen but, rendering with IPR on Vray makes Forest objects in Edit Mode to change to Planes and not the used proxy, making difficult to know which object its the one selected, also its really diffucult to select the forest object from the viewport and it takes alot of time to show it on modify panel, I dont remember that this happened before.

Hi,

Thanks for the interesting question. Turns out that's trickier than it looks.

Please see the attached file for a possible solution. There are a few notes on how to use it.

- I've split the spline into two. One for the main U shaped spline, and another that contains the intermediary walls
- Vertices are set to Corners to create a corner, and Bezier-Corners to create a T junction
- There's a padding parameter that can either create a mortar joint or overlap bricks
- Bricks should be the same size on the X Axis. There are parameters to override the size if you want them or leave them at 0 to use the size of the original geometry

Hi,

Exactly, as you have pointed out, that is a value showing the approximate maximum amount of items based on the current Distribution & Areas settings (depending on the Density settings and size of the used Area(s)). I hope that helps.

Hi all,

A job is taking ages to parse per frame.

I'm optimising the scene.

In FP Stats for 1 FP it says:

Build speed: 133k trees/sec
Max density: 13.3m items in area

Does that mean that there are 13.3m items on the surface, or based on the density, that's how many can fit on the surface?

Another FP says 17m items for max density.

Any clarification would be great, thanks
