Hi Alessandro,

Could you give us a few more details. What problem are you experiencing when working with the Gradient Ramp?

Many thanks,

Paul

new test

to me grass is too rotated anyway all the scattered pyramids have same direction...

Hi Alessandro.

Seems to be working fine for me:

The only difference I can see between this and your version is that you are using Map Channel 2. I've attached the file for you to take a look at if it helps.

Cheers,

Paul

Ah! Unless you're not using a surface? Transform by map requires a surface to work correctly in order to extract the correct mapping coordinates.

Thanks,

Paul

anyway check the online documentation it insiste a lot on channel 2 using.

Well there's certainly nothing wrong with using mapping channel 2 (or any other). The only caveat is that if you change the mapping on the surface after adding it to Forest Pack you'll need to ensure you update the surface reference by clicking  (http://docs.itoosoft.com/download/attachments/9371680/button_refresh.gif?version=1&modificationDate=1400517179528&api=v2) in the surfaces rollout.

No problem, glad I could help out  :)

small resolution impossible to apreciate 2 different grass groups one as main an the other as irregular strips

if I deform the main surface now to have irregularity will I have some further issues?

Looks nice :) Should be fine to adjust the main surface, as long as you update in the surface rollout afterwards as described above.

Cheers,

Paul

not bad. but still in doubt that pyramids rotation is right?

How was the distance haze created? Was it with Max's Fog or was it done in post?

Hi Dave,

As I recall the haze was created  by compositing a VRayZDepth pass in photoshop.

Many thanks,

Paul

Thanks Paul! I'm rendering out an RPF with a Z-Depth render element and will play around with different fog effects in AE. Cheers.
