Any chance Forest LOD accept Forest Set?

Hello there, is what I´m asking reasonable? I mean, Forest Lod accept forest Set and then we could add group of models inside set and make them work based on distances.
For example: Hero trees in first plan and low ones farther away, or animated vs static ones, etc. Does it makes sense?
