Corona render, objects scaled to zero error message
« on: January 08, 2016, 01:54:27 PM »
Hi
I'm Corona user and every time new Forest Pack object is created I get the corona's error message when I start rendering (see attachment). This message concerning Forest Pack's template objects which are scaled to zero and not supposed to be renderable. It's not big problem to press Ignore similar messages and do not get this message again when I render the scene if we are talking about render on one computer, but it makes some problem for render nodes while using Distributed rendering.

I've noticed that problematic objects created automatically by Forest Pack are in a forest_templates layer which is frozen and not renderable, but the Rendering Control properties of those created objects automatically set to By Object – so Corona render sees them as renderable objects and give this error message. Is it possible to change  Rendering Control properties to By Layer and get rid off this problem in future versions of Forest Pack?

Also It would be good not to have on rendered pictures objects which are created by Forest Pack in cases of using built-in libraries, because objects for distribution belong to the same forest_templates layer and have the same  Rendering Control properties set to By Object. So I have to always remember to change position or properties of these objects in order not to have them on pictures.

Hi,

You shouldn't get that error messages as that "forest_templates" layer is by default hidden & frozen (even having the Rendering Control set to By Object for all of those objects).

Are you using for some reason the Render Setup - Options - Render Hidden Geometry option? That would lead to those error messages. If so, disabling it should fix it.

Best regards,

Thanks for your reply!
Sorry, forgot to mention that I do use Render Setup - Options - Render Hidden Geometry.
It's very convenient for me wile working with some objects in large scenes to keep everything except  objects I'm working with hidden in viewport but have everything on rendered pictures. I use this workflow almost all the time. It speed up my work a lot - I shouldn't hide/unhide/isolate objects all the time for rendering, and of course load to my videocard is much-much lower so I do not have problems with FPS. Normally I manage with layers to control what I want to be rendered.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick feedback, that explains that behaviour. We'll see what can be done in future releases to avoid it and we'll keep you posted.
