Something broke my 3ds Max installation; Max loaded up but would not open the main window. I fixed this temporarily by renaming the "C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2024 - 64bit\ENU" folder, forcing Max to create a new one. Now Max works fine but I get an error from ForestPack saying "GPU Marker Shader could not be initialized. Please Contact iToo Software". ForestPack still works and renders fine but the Quick Mesh in ForestIvy is not displayed in the viewport. Not a very big deal at this Point and I am in a middle of a Project so I don't want to mess to much with my installation but I was wondering if there is a simple fix for this error? Thanks!

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues. This is likely related to recent changes we made to the Points-Cloud mode. Have you changed the display driver in 3ds Max from the default 'Nitrous' to another option under Customize > Preferences > Viewports > Choose Driver? Please try updating your graphics card driver to the latest version, as this might resolve the issue. If that doesn't fix the problem, please feel free to set the following option:

cloudPointsByObject=0

in the forestpack.ini located by default under

C:\Users\<yourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2020 - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Everything works now! By renaming the ENU64 folder Max somehow reverted back to Nitrous Direct 3D 9 instead of Nitrous Direct 3D 11. Thank you very much for the excellent support! :) /Tobias
