Flicker? - not sure...
« on: June 10, 2013, 11:51:27 PM »
Hi,
I'm using forest pro 4.0.3 and 3dmax design 2012 64bit.
I'm rendering animation with forest objects and I have some issues. Not sure it's flickering. It looks more like trees are rotating, or maybe forest material does some trick...   ??? (it really looks like trees have moving twigs)
Here are some frames (sorry for the gamma, no post work were applied yet).
https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1dv8o2ldc9hw5i/cam_p4.1.rar

Light pass - IR map multiframe incremental, LC fly-through every 10th frame.

Please advise what causing this things. I don't have any problems with closer shots in this scene.
Tried to untick "limit visibility" box - that didn't help.

Hope there is a walk around.

thanks

Yes, this is flickering caused by the tiny leaves rendered at that distance. You must increase the AA sampling.

You can find some useful settings in the following thread (see the VRay links): http://www.itoosoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=905.0

yes, will try to play around with the settings, thanks
though rendering time encreases...

maybe wil try to render trees using animated objects method (exclude from GI and light with vray dome)
