shared network library folder after update?
« on: July 19, 2022, 04:48:17 PM »
We had the railclonepro and forestpro libraries shared on network folder to have one single library for all artist. after updating to vray 6 forestpro 743 and railclone 526 this path seems to be ignored, the update manager installs the libraries to c:\user\appdata\local\itoo.... instead of the shades folder. Is there a changed concept?

could it be the itoo uninstallers doesnt clean up the registry? there are still old, wrong paths, some unc, some with drive letters, some with slash, some with backslash, even mixed ones, directing to several lib\ paths, some directing to c:\user\admin... some directing to c:\user\user... some directing to old shared network forestlibrary folders, one single (stonelib) directing to the correct unc shared network folder path

Hi Matthias,

I'm sorry to hear you're facing these troubles. That sounds like, that for some reason, corresponding registry keys (like the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\LibraryDir]) have been edited. Modifying these as described in the following links should help:

https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq/installing-forestpack-6-assets-in-a-shared-network-path/

https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq-18/installing-railclone-3-assets-in-a-shared-network-path/

Let me mention, that in addition to the "network paths set-up" links, using environment variables can be a good option.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
