Forest pack Pro Corona Dr issue; Forestconfig.cpp assertion.
« on: February 27, 2020, 11:51:02 AM »

We're having a very particular issue while using Forest Pack pro with Corona. We have a largish scene with lots of plants using custom objects. When we are working on the scene we have no issues. When we send the scene to back burner to render on one machine we have no issue, the scene renders fine. However when we use Corona DR for rendering we get an assertion error with the 'Forestconfig.cpp (see Screen grab attached). If we click 'continue' then the rendering machine will pick up the node and the scene will render fine. If we don't click continue obviously the render node won't start the scene properly and the render will show missing ghosting trees.

If we don't use DR at all turn the server on all the render farm all the machine will open the scene and render it fine; Its only the Corona DR where there is an issue.

We will be rendering up to 15 images over night for this project (plus an animation) so can't be clicking continue every time so doesn't anyone have any suggestions. We've tried reinstalling Forest pack/ merging everything into new scenes but can't stop the assertion from popping up. We are using an xref the the landscaper but have tried merging everything into one scene and still get the same issue.

We are on Max 2019 and are using Corona 4.1. Latest version of Forest Pack.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, this error is triggered when Forest cannot load the key "MainDir" from the registry at "HKLM\SOFTWARE\\Itoo Software\\Forest Pack Pro", or the value is empty.
The "MainDir" key defines the Forest installation path (usually at C:\Program Files\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro).

Please, use the registry editor in the render node, and check if the registry exists.
If not, for some reason the software is not being installed correctly in the render nodes.
