Groups & pivot point
« on: September 06, 2023, 10:55:18 AM »
Hello,

well i should try the latest version you might say ?
And you might be right.

Version 712 was working fine (on max 2020)
now we moved to max 2023, and forest 741, and issues started to appear.
Downloaded version 807 (latest included in our license), and issue is still here.

If i use a group of bushes as geometry, the pivots are taken from the group and not the objects inside, leading to crap results.

Is it something that has been known and adressed ?

all the best

Hi Ben,

In recent versions, the whole group is now considered a single object, but if you prefer the old behavior, you can simply switch between them using the Keep Group Hierarchy option in the Geometry roll-out. I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thank you for your fast answer.
I don't understand that choice of having the pivot of the group. But ok...
Glad there's an option to go back! Wish it would have been by default and i wouldn't spend half a day on this matter :)
