how to get assets from presets
« on: March 07, 2017, 11:57:49 AM »
Hi all!!

Is there a way to extract assets from premade presets of forest pack? Maybe a very basic question but I couldnt find it ...

For example; In the meadow pack, I would like to add the orange flowers as a 3d asset? and use seperately?

Thank you in advance!!

Hi,

First let me mention, that when working with Forest objects, you can easily select any used Custom Object via 3ds max's quad menu (right click) - Select Forest Custom Object.

If you need to access any of distributed object(s), besides of the way mentioned above, you can find all these under "forest_templates" layer. By default all objects inside of this layer are hidden and frozen. The object name will be _forest_library_*******. Any of these objects can be manipulated like any other 3ds max's object - moved to other layer, copied etc.

Hope that helps.

In the image you use a forest pack selector script.
Where can I find this?

Looked in the forest scripts section, but it wasn't there.
Would be very handy.
Thx.

Hi,

The FP_MS_SelectCustomObject macroScript triggered from the quad menu (Select Forest Custom Object) is part of the forestpack.ms located at C:\Program Files\Autodesk\<your 3ds max version>\scripts\Startup. Hope that helps.
