Instanced Surfaces
« on: November 30, 2023, 02:38:40 PM »
Hi everyone! I have the following Forestpack Object that I'm using to put moss on some trees. The problem I'm having is that because the trees are instanced the moss looks identical on all of them.
Is there anyway to get Forestpack to have them different on each surface? or do I have to have a new forest object for each tree?

thanks!

Hi,

Enabling the Surfaces > Mode > Randomize Stacked feature should do the trick.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Sadly, it does not, here's a screenshot with Randomize Stacked On and Off, the difference is minimal

Hi,

Are you using the Distribution > Diversity - Clusters feature? If so, consider switching to the Match Color ID on Map mode. This allows you to drive it with a procedural map, such as the Cellular map, depending on your needs. For mapping purposes, the source for coordinates can use World XYZ, which should result in a unique mapping for each of these surfaces.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
