Hi there,

I've been experimenting recently with building up Forest Packs with the "Select models' option in the Areas rollout and have run into an issue.

In this case, I've been trying to build a FP using the same set of objects set to different scales in the geometry list, with the idea being that I can use different distribution maps to control each set using "Select models". However, whenever I move any of the items up or down in the geometry lister for the sake of organisation, "Select models" then fails to correctly recognise the models that I have actually selected.

As seen in screenshot 02, only one of the items is actually being scattered there - and after checking it with the Items Editor in Custom Edit mode, this wasn't even one of the ones that was in the selection, whilst in screenshot 01, the Red colour ID items are not being recognised.

This issue occurs consistently for me every time anything is moved in the lister, and prior to this it did work correctly.

I'm not sure whether this is simply a bug, or if I'm somehow missing some detail on my end, so some clarification would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing these troubles. I've done some tests using the latest version, but I can't reproduce your troubles here (both Geometry & Select Models lists are updated accordingly). If you're able to reproduce it on a minimal scene, which you can send us, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hi Michael,

Thanks very much for having a look - after some more testing last night I figured out what was causing the issue: Diversity was set to 'Clusters' instead of 'Random' and this was causing the FP to ignore the selected models when items were moved in the lister. After setting it to Random it behaved correctly again - so all solved with a single button in the end :D
