Add geometry placeholders to FP via maxscript
« on: June 23, 2019, 03:48:27 PM »
Hi

We're using RC in combination with FP to generate props in the scene.
For this we would need to add quite some geometry to the FP each with its own colour code to match the RC colour code. So I'd like to build a maxscript to add for ex 10/15 geometry placeholders to FP each with predefine name and colour code.

Would be much appreciated 😉 thanks

Hi,

Please find attached a couple of basic scripts you can use to learn from.

The first creates a Forest Pack object using settings hard coded in a couple of arrays. You could easily change those settings. Note that colours are represented in 0-1 range and are RGB (not sRGB)

The second example simply makes a forest pack object from the selected items in one click and uses the Wire Colour to control the ID Color.

Hope that helps,

All the best,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Great, I can work with that to create just what I need.

Thanks!
