Move ivy in animation
« on: October 06, 2024, 01:42:09 PM »
Hi there,

The new ivy tool is great. Thank you for it. But unfortunately I have the following problem with it:

I would have to move ivy for example on a lorry, or a ship, whatever. The leaves don't need to move in the wind or anything like that. I just want ivy from point A at frame 0 to point B at frame 100. The movement can be quite complex - including rotation and scaling. I would prefer an export into a mesh - but this doesn't work with the tools or with Forestpack.

Hi,

If you only need to move the entire ForestIvy object, it's recommended to create a copy of the surface being used and apply the adjustments to that copy. If the ForestIvy should be animated, in addition to the Growth > Baseline parameter, which can be animated, you can also adjust the Growth Level over time. The Rotation and Scale parameters found under the Leaves & Flowers rollout can also be modified as needed. I hope this helps.

Best regards,

To export ForestIvy to a mesh, set Display->Viewport mode to 'Mesh', and then collapse it. Forest Tools doesn't work with ForestIvy.
