Path distribution 'In vertex position' problem
« on: February 13, 2024, 11:40:18 AM »
Hi,

In path mode with 'In vertex position' selected Forest Pack respects only corner vertices and having any bezier-corner, bezier or smooth vertices present makes the distribution not only 'in vertex position' but on spline segments as well.
See the attached screenshot.
We use this workflow to distribute cars in traffic and it's hard to keep the cars smoothly aligned on curved sections of the roads using only corner vertices.
Is there any workaround for that?

Best regards,
Przemek

Hi Przemek,

To avoid adding any items in these "interpolated steps", you should set the Interpolation > Steps to 0. We'll see what can be done in future versions.

Thanks,

Well, it doesn't fix the problem because this solution is equal to having all vertices as corners.
The desired result would be similar to the behavior of Railclone's corner/bezier-corner segment being nicely aligned to the curvature of the spline.
But it's great to hear that you are considering looking into that in the future. :)
