Possible Bug with Top Limit
« on: January 06, 2023, 02:58:24 PM »
Hi,

I have a repeatable crash with the latest 3ds max 2023 and the latest Forest Pro plugin.

To create this crash:

- Generate a forest pro object on any surface
- Add objects to your Forest Object (You can do this now or later)
- Go to Areas Tab and + an object.
- Set the Top Limit = 0

This will cause 3ds Max to crash. There's probably never a need to set it to 0 but it's still an option and creates a crash.

Hi,

I've tried to reproduce it here by following provided steps, but it seems to work just fine. As it's really hard to say, what's happening exactly in your scene just from the provided description, if possible, please feel free to send us your scene (ideally simplified and containing just this problematic object(s)) to helpdesk@itoosoft.com to check it here. In case of a big file size, please use a web-sharing service like WeTransfer. Ideally, if you'll be able to reproduce it on a minimal scene, which you can send us, it would be great.

Thanks in advance for any further details you can share about it with us / our user community (in case some user(s) will run into similar troubles).

Best regards,

Hi Michal Karmazin,

I've gotten this crash on two different computers now with a very basic scene. I probably didn't explain how to create the crash properly.

I've sent a simplified scene to the email now, hopefully it all works out.

Hi Keith,

Big thanks for your swift reply and the provided scene. With your help, we've been able to reproduce this unwanted behavior here too and we'll check what can be done - it'll need to be investigated more in deep by our main developers. Thanks for your collaboration, your feedback is very important to us.

Best regards,
