Scattering lights with fores pack
« on: February 03, 2020, 06:42:35 PM »
Hello guys,

Is there any way we could use forest pack to scatter Vray lights, the purpose of it is to be able to quickly illuminate towers or tall architectural buildings.
so far I have found some script called instance lights on forest, but if you change the parameters of the forest object, the instanced lights would not change accordingly.

is there a way to go around that ? will froset make the option available to scatter Vray lights, this might be pretty handy to a lot of us :D.

Best Regards

Hi,

Unfortunately non-geometric objects (as lights) aren't supported as items for distribution, therefore I would suggest you a "material work-flow".
Applying a VRayLightMtl (I suppose you're using the V-Ray renderer) / CoronaLightMtl (in case of Corona renderer)  for corresponding material.
Sometimes this workaround is enough.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Hi, Any plans to support scattering lights or it's impossible to do?  Thanks

Hi. Thanks for interest. Support to scatter lights will be available in ForestPack 7. FP7 beta is just around the corner.
