Is there any "what's new" changelog for v9?

Hi,

While FP9 is in beta, the latest changelog can be found here: https://forum.itoosoft.com/announcements/forest-pack-pro-9-0-8-beta/

As soon as we release final builds, the formal changelog will be on our documentation server as well as blogs and videos explaining what's new in more detail. The headline feature of this release is ForestIvy which you can learn more about here: https://www.itoosoft.com/blog/forestivy-sneak-peek-out-now-in-beta

I hope that helps,

Paul

Edge mode for proxies  and better point cloud performance - nice.
There's another problem with point cloud mode in the viewport - its not recognized by tyDiffusion. Any possibility to address it?

Thanks for the kind words, glad those features are useful.

Regarding TyFlow, I'm afraid there's not much we can do about that one. We don't have access to information about how TyDiffusion is reading the viewports for img->img mode but I assume it reads only mesh data to avoid things like gizmos from lights and cameras confusing the image generation, the same would apply for depth maps which I assume use only mesh data as well.

I see there is now an option to generate images based on the framebuffer which might yield better results if you need to display the FP trees. In any case, I think only Tyson could change the way he reads viewport data with regard to Forest Pack. Sorry we can't be of more help with that one.

Kindest regards,

Paul

@Itoo Are you already working on Vray 7 interoperability or it'd get started only after the 7 final release? Thanks

We have been very busy with FP9, and we had not time to check V-Ray 7. Once everything is stable, we'll work on that.
