Alignment Issue with the Default Segment
« on: July 16, 2023, 11:11:40 AM »
Hi,
I've made a window as a Array 2S2 using RC6 latest & 3ds Max 2019.
The issue is, that the Default Segment is not aligned well after the corner and/or each tile.

The whole Default-Slide ( Bottom + Default  + Top ) get's a little bit pushed to the z-axis after a corner.
When setting the Default Segment Mode to "Tile" -> the first tile is well aligned but each following tile will be push a little bit ( for the same amount ) further to the z-axis.
For all segments i'm using the outputs of the slice modifier and their z-alignment is set to pivot

Any ideas ? Thx in advance :)

Ok. Try Reset X form on the original model.

Thanks for the hint - I've already did the reset without success.
Tried also to use the exported segments from the modifier, ckecked pivots, collapsed to poly after xform etc.
No idea where this effect is coming from.

If the model is purchased I`ll suspect the model.
Check if there is some isolated vertex that is not visible and forcing the bounding box not to be correct.
Also, check all parameters that show 0.00, primarily if you use inches as units. I troubleshoot some users' graphs and found 0.00xx values even though they were showing as 0.00.

Hi,

If it's a purchased model then it's best not to post it publically, but please feel free to send it to helpdesk@itoosoft.com and we'd be happy to take a look.

Best,

Paul

Hi and thanks for your help!

Finally i found out what the problem was:
The Model wasn't build correctly -> The "Frontside" Vertecies of that model weren't aligned correctly,  there was a small difference of 0.025 cm between the start-"start-vertecies" & the default "end-vertecies" so to speak.
Thank you very much for your help!!
